Sodomy Specialist Needed STAT!

An excerpt from the article:

Kamaruddin, however, said the doctor who examined Saiful was not a specialist.
"He is not qualified to make any conclusions on sodomy," he said.

Okay, even if the medical report is false and all that, it is known that the doctor referred the 'Fool' to a Doc in the General Hospital (macam soap opera saja). But, doctors out there, tell me something for I am not equipped to know such things.

Does it take a SPECIALIST to make any conclusions on sodomy? I mean, a Joe Blow won't know shit about anatomy but any doctors should know right?

I mean, do you need to be sodomised beforehand to become a specialist on sodomy?

Of Horror and Sanity

My youngest brother and my parents came over to dump him into Taylor's University College. When parents come to visit, you must do your best to go and meet up with them, they are the one and only source of unlimited funds.

Okay enough with the backstory.

If you look to the right of my blog you can see that I have a Board Game Geek column, thingamajig. From there you can see I have Dunwich Horror, yes, the expansion for Arkham Horror. I know I've only played a few games of Arkham Horror, but I just wanna have more investigators and more encounter cards and more Ancient Ones and so on and so forth. I just want 'em all.

There are new gameplay mechanics this time around. You can choose not to lose all your stamina/sanity to gain either an injury card or madness card. These cards let you keep all of your items at a cost throughout the whole game. So you should choose wisely whether its feasible to keep all of your items or to let half of them go.

Also now, we have gate bursts. Gates that are sealed can be re-opened if a certain card comes into play. That definitely sucks balls, for players who went through all the trouble to seal the gate. But, I like the game to be difficult and I like how people react when they get encounters that are detrimental to their investigators. I should post pictures.

Lastly, let me point you to why its called Dunwich Horror. The expansion has a new map board connected to the base game, which is roughly 1/4 of the size of the base board. The new map is called Dunwich and there is a monster (btw, the monster is called The Dunwich Horror)that comes out if its not kept in check. I wont go into detail, for fear it might spoil the game later for you 'readers'. But, lets just say the Dunwich Horror is a very tough cookie to beat. On top of that you have to worry about the Ancient One from awakening.

I played alone to get used to the rules for awhile and it shows that with these new locations and new investigators, it gets interestingly harder. It is hard to win a game, honestly.

Cthulhu and the Ancient Ones

I finally bought myself Arkham Horror, the boardgame. Greatest fear was that there will not be anyone to play with. Considering the fact that this game is quite hard to understand and it is something of a niche/alternative boardgame. Nothing like Monopoly or shite like that, this had some RPG elements mixed into it. But, my fears were merely that, I managed to convince people to play this game on the weekends with me. People who don't normally like to mix around with the "uncool" group.

Anyways, had to learn the game on my own before unveiling to the hostile crowd I lived with. Well the game did state it you could play alone, so thats just what I did, but its fuckin' tough. IMHO, it is on par with the replayability of Betrayal at House on the Hill. Where, BaHotH had 50 scenarios, AH on the other hand, has 16 investigators and 8 Ancient Ones. I made a house rule, where no one can use the same investigator every game, randomised it basically. Also, I randomised the AOs. This is so players won't be too comfortable with their preferred investigator.

Edit: By the by, each investigators have their own unique statistics, so that is why each game is random and all that bullshit. IT IS FUN!

After familiarising myself with the rulebook, I pulled in the lady to play with me. The first game was easy because we skipped a few rules and vowed to fix it up in a later game. Managed, to close all the gates before the AO awakened. The second play through, we lost, because we didn't focus on closing the gates and focused more on killing monsters and collecting clue tokens. With too many gates open, the AO entered play and we didn't manage to kill the bastard off. We managed to finish both games in around 3 hours each.

The next few days I managed to pull in a few more people and its safe to say that the game gets more interesting with more players and more monsters on board to fend off. Sweet spot I would say is 4 - 6 players. By the way, this game is a fully cooperative game so you are fighting the board not other players. I might just be a spectator and conduct the game rather than be one of the investigators later. That I don't mind.

All in all, this game is fun, easy to understand once you get the hang of it. I know the fact that it might get boring to some of you with just a few investigators and ancient ones. Fear not, there are expansions readily available and I plan to buy them all. Each with new investigators, new cards and encounters and monsters. Mwahaha!

I look forward to laugh at you when you fail your horror check.

Alternative boardgames

I have been sucked back in to the world of boardgames, I have my friend Rainer to blame. It was early this year when he introduced me to "Betrayal at House on the Hill". Its a mixture between Clue, Rpg elements and also a B-rated horror movie.

So, I decided to go and buy the boardgame and visit Comics Corner over at SS15 Subang. But, they did not have in stock, what they said was that the boardgame was out of print and no longer available. Hopefully that person was just not up to date with his other store. I am in need of a Betrayal fix right now. Once I get that, I'll be a happy man. Bangsar Shopping Centre, HERE I COME!

The next best alternative would be "Arkham Horror".

Yes I am now on a geek run with trying to find people to form an RPG campaign around Cyberjaya area. I needs to play, I neeeeeeeeeeeds.

La Li Lu Le Lo

So, I have just finished Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots at 4.00am this morning. All I can say is, it has to be one of the greatest cinematic event that I have ever watched (and also played). Cinematic in a sense that there are loads of cutscenes, and I know there are many out there get put-off by that. My reasoning? It is of course a Metal Gear Solid game, you expect to have cutscenes in the game. The game? I have to say it does not disappoint and it is not a chore to control and it being the most accessible game amongst the rest of the MGS games brings a lot of the fun into the game.

I'll just sum it up: IT IS FUCKING AWESOME! I KID YOU NOT!

I am still blown away and I can't wait to go back home and give it a second run through. It is that good and I probably won't stop there even. MGS4 has MGO included so thats a must try.

Snake you've earned the respite that you have always wanted. A great send-off to one of the greatest heroes in gaming.

Thank you Hideo Kojima.

The thing is...

Friday prayers "khutbah" (blame me for not googling the meaning in english, speech?) are meant for reflection amongst the whole Islam community. What we can do to improve ourselves both externally and internally. But, what I have found recently it is a medium to spread political propaganda and wishing wellness on leaders who don't lead by example.

The story goes like this; for the past 3 weeks I have been going to the Putrajaya Masjid (I will not call it Mosque, for reasons it might be derogative to us all, MIGHT, I am still unsure but I'll check wikipedia soon-ish). Anyway, during last weeks Friday prayers the speaker (yes I haven't gotten around to finding the true word for it, so shut it) was going on and on about subsidies. Yes, the subsidies that government has countless times preached to us on how it is how they help the citizens.

He was preaching how these subsidies are helping out the poor. Paradox (or bullshit), if I've ever saw one. How are you going to help the poor by increasing the oil prices? The thing is, with oil prices sky-rocketing, the poor has to hike up prices of their raw products (if they're in the agri or fishing industry that is, and thats only if they have jobs) just so they can make ends meet. They will be living the same life they have. In a way, inflation is good only if our wages follow the trend, but it has been stagnant for how long I don't know.

I remember a time when MYR 100 can get you a lot of stuffs. Now, you can barely do shit with it. I need MYR 200 to buy games DAMNIT! Can we make videogames official over here. Videogames are not a kid's toy anymore and stop lumping gamers into people who don't grow up, its our past-time and luxury. If you want to modify your car just so it can go that bit faster, then get pulled over by the cops and then complain how shitty cops are, go ahead.

Sorry for the tangent.

The second thing is, when we 'Amin' to all the Islamic verses (yes again I am an asshole, I am not pious enough to understand their meanings, it's a gradual thing) and then they go ahead and ask that Sultans or Agongs or Leaders of the state be given prosperity and wealth. That is the only part I don't 'Amin' to. What have THEY done to improve Islam? These royal families go drinking around in pubs and showing off how modern they are. They think they have relations to prophets and all that crap. Being related and improving Islam does not equal the same shit. You are not going to get any reprieve.

I even think Parameswara is a goddamn Indian who lost his way. He ain't Indonesian or whatever, he is a fucking pariah! Think, he came from the west, I think around the Bali area and we all know Bali has strong Hindu-ism cultures. Hindu came from India, nuff said. I AM THE LAW!

But what do I know about how it was back then, he might be one of the prophets that were not significant enough to be named in the Holy Al-Quran. For that I apologise, and only if I was mistaken.

To all the Friday prayers preachers:
1. Stop spewing out political propaganda.
2. Don't ask Allah to save your KINGS or LEADERS who does not practise Islamic traits (it is so friggin' obvious in this country)

p/s - One of the preachers at the Putrajaya Masjid, was talking about how murderers were given a special type of hell, especially for them. Our DPM (Altantuya) was there at the time, I bet the preacher will be dumped into an obscure backwater town Masjid to do his speech from now on.

What have you done to make the world a better place?

Latest edition to the MSL crew reporting for duty. My sister who is a hypocrite, my bro who will always be pissed off (with reasons) and the youngest of the lot who never seems to care. All 3 of them seem to love this blogspot bullshit, I've been trying to get them on livejournal, where I can better manage my friends list. But noooooooooooooo, they want to be in the "in-crowd". Assholes, all of them.

I used to have a blog here, but I can't seem to access it, but its just a stupid bookmark of sorts which I have abandoned a long time ago.

Enough of the bleeping introduction, lets cut to the chase. I hate my job, thank god I got through to the 2nd round of interviews over at Kurnia Insurance (and no, the job position is not as an insurance agent, more like a management trainee thing). I will leave this piece of crap of a company and I will not be sad or pity the new girl who was recently employed. She will have to learn all the things that we hate about the company the hard way.

I just hope I get through to the 3rd and final round of interviews, so I can leave this company and get at least a one week respite before starting the new job. Thinking of going back to my hometown for a week, damn I miss KK. But I do not miss the politicians over there. Fuuuuuuuuuucked up I tell yers. Lemme ask you this, you know how you think all politicians are corrupt? Well you don't need to think long and hard when it comes to MP (Moses Peace). He exudes corruption just by smiling, I shit you not, I KID YOU NOT.

SEE! What did I tell you? CORRUPTED.

I am in no mood to do anything else today. TODAY I WILL BE UNPRODUCTIVE.
